Trinitas is the nominative, the genitive would be "trinitatis". I'm not sure why Littledale translated "in unitiate Trinitas" as if it were "in Trinitate unitas". It couldn't have been for reasons of meter could it? What would St. Athanasius say?

Well, I'm sure I don't know. As usual, I'm having trouble wrapping my head around the theology. But the grammar, at any rate, is much easier. And in grammar, I'm confident that St. Athanasius would agree with me! :) (Which is just to say, I think I'm right about this.)Figulushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13549064050271896212noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1831287028362469756.post-85316687834682818132008-07-28T15:38:00.000-07:002008-07-28T15:38:00.000-07:00Hmm. I would say her composition is interesting to listen to but I agree that it doesn't seem to follow the text.

On the bright side, the "Alleluias" are so difficult to sing that we could lift for people to sing before the gospel at mass. :) Ooh, maybe at school to make mass more "engaging" for the students!Danhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10829574522791907940noreply@blogger.com
